John Adair has been blessed with a joy-filled career as a composer, songwriter, producer, performer and music industry entrepreneur. His company HamptonAdair has composed the music for many TV shows, starting in 1999 with NBC’s popular “Just Shoot Me” and continuing to present day’s “Alaska The Last Frontier”. Adair’s television work has received several ASCAP awards, and the films he has scored have been the recipients of both festival commendations and industry press awards. Along the way, he has been privileged to record with artists as diverse as Randy Newman, Meat Loaf, Little Feat, Johnny Rivers, Thelma Houston, Luther Vandross, Dave Grisman, Madeleine Peyroux, Jewel, Martina McBride and Lyle Lovett.
In addition to his work in film and television, Adair has created music for hundreds of national television commercials, including such brands as GE, Lexus, Michelob, Canon, E-trade, AT&T, Dodge, Verizon and Nike. His advertising credits include the winner of a Cannes Gold Lion, and the ubiquitous “Hit It” tag for Dodge RAM.
Since the sale of his commercial production company, John has focused on record production, in addition to his TV and film scoring; and has been privileged to work with some amazing, passionate and extraordinarily talented artists, writers and directors.
John currently resides and records in Ojai, CA, with his happy wife, two lazy dogs, and five highly industrious chickens.
